AMA with the Pangolin Team - June 9

We hosted an AMA with the Pangolin Community on June 9th 2021. Here is the transcript and recording.

Chewbacca: Is there an idea about CEX listing with x or c chain asset? going through metamask possible or througt metamask - webwallet - cross chain transfer - cex?

Team: CEXs (Gate and Kucoin) will have some wallet integration that should help. Direct integration to the c-chain is likely down the road.

Devilk: Will you launch a farm pool with Xava token ? xava / Png

Team: We want to add more native pairs yes, ultimately its up to projects and communities to vote on these sinc we are a decentralized model

Digital Worker: Why did you choose the AVAX ecosystem? What benefits does it give you?

Team: Ethereum too expensive and slow. Subnets and Avalanche technology are exciting. Community is great, builders get support from AvaLabs and other projects.

Nikn 1: Why the name Pangolin?

Team: Probably have to ask Connor D, who started Pangolin. We suppose its in theme with "Avalanche" and mountains

Mat07: With how many Cexes are you talking for listing right now?

Team: We are waiting for c-chain integration. We have been engaging with Gate.io. Need some legal documentation. Kucoin we were under NDA (non disclosure) but now its public so we can share that we are also engaging.

Ginger X: What are the current opportunities for participants to influence the development of the project?

Team: Governance and voting is the formal way. We have a governance forum, snapshot votes, and on-chain votes. Reach out through telegram, discord, etc. Need to find a balance between speed and democracy to move quickly and innovate.

Devilk: Do you believe Pangolin dex can become a good alternative to pancakeswap ? Can it reach its volumes?

Team: Definitely. We have a full time team now dedicated to making Pangolin great. Avalanche DeFi is just getting started as well.

Bian L: How do you plan to develop the community in the near future? Do you have plans for regional languages?

Support partner projects in the ecosystem. Create telegram channels and add mods for international support.

Hakan: Binance/Okex listings? And marketing plans?

Team: Technical complexity on Binance because they have integrated x-chain but PNG is on the c-chain. Okex - on the radar. Marketing is usually a requirement to get listed, and paying a marketing fee.

Omer: What exactly is the team talking and discussing? I would be grateful if you could provide detailed information on this

Team: Everything. CEX, staking, Avalabs contacts + NDA info, marketing, etc.

G L: Regarding what Ginger X said how can we as a community help on sharing exposure to Pangolin. (other than voting on twitter)

Team: Peer to peer referrals are big. Grassroots and building community from the ground up. Making our telegram and discord communities positive and helpful

Dominic: What new features will you introduce to make Pangolin different from other DEXes?

Team: UX redesign is in the works to differentiate from other DEX. Ease of use improvements. Bridges. Governance. Capital efficiency is important. Community is key, Pangolin is a community run projects.

Cryptoberich: $XAVA launch on kucoin is great success, $PNG shall be the second asset in my opinion..what are your thoughts on this ?

Team: Thats the game plan. There is a lot of paperwork and coordination involved. The process is starting.

Aleks: When poker?

Team: Subnets allow cool implementations like this. Probably not directly Pangolin related haha

As Me: Now you can only earn if you are a liquidity provider? Want to add more ways to farm?

Team: Incentiviing liquidity is the primary incentive for PNG rewards. Another way is to allow single sided PNG rewards.

AraziAraci: why dont you ask SAM to list PNG on FTX he is already getting paid since the launch of pangolin?

Team: Yes if FTX will have us, we are all for it.

Wa Zan: Avalanche is quite a young platform, where do you want to take the liquidity to scale successfully in future?

Team: We need capital efficient markets. Also need to be good custodians of liquidity (safety, audits, testing). Learn lessons from BSC. Vertical integration is possible. Cross chain is possible.

Crypto Bus: What bottlenecks did you manage to solve during development? What conclusions did you draw?

Team: Paying people with the multisig. The speed at which we can submit on-chain proposals. We concluded that we need a quicker governance system.

Yes Then: What are Pangolin's main tasks this quarter?

Team: UX redesign. Single side staking. CEX integration. Governance improvements.

Dominic: Shouldn't we remove some rewarded pools that have been there since the beginning but don't add value to Avalanche? How can we efficiently do that? polls?

Team: Rewards pools needs to be changed through on-chain governance votes. We agree that we could have a better selection of rewarded pools

Digital Worker: How much $PNG does it take to enter Governance now?

Team: There a minimum requirement of 1M PNG. It can be delegated from other people.

Arif Ahmed Rony: As an end user i am more interested how it looks and feels while using a platform. Its very fascinating that the speed of pangolin is super BUT what about the UX/UI . It is not as fascinating as its underlining technology.

Team: Current UI is a fork of Uniswap V2. We have a redesign in progress to have a custom look

LLcryptoJ: What additional features can we expect in the UI? Features like limit order etc? How about an App or a wallet? NFT Support? Thanks

Team: Limit orders - other projects are building solutions that we can embed into our app. App/Wallet - its possible, just need to decide if we want to spend the engineering hours on it. NFT - yes, thats an easy win

Ginger X: What are your future plans for DeFi? Will there be new features?

Team: Bridging integration into Pangolin app is a main focus.

Wa Zan: What technologies do you use at your backend?

Team: Pangolin runs as a client side technology in your browser. Landing page is built in Svelte. App is built in React. Deployed to IPFS. Browser talks directly to Smart Contracts.

Dominic: Have you got any plan/projects to syphon some of the user base from other Chains such as BSC or Matic?

Team: Bridges and easy transfers between networks is important. Also offering a safe place (audited working code and contracts) is important

Mehmet: When single sided PNG farm?

Team: Team has been discussing various implementations, weighing security and benefits. We'll be posting a timeline soon. New code requires testing and audits as well.

Nikn 1: Do you have plans for gamification?

Team: UX redesign will have a toggle between game version and professional version. Can also provide a "defi score" for users to track activity within the ecosystem.

Rugpull Community Leader: Is there anything that can be done about stopping projects from adding two of their own coins to a liquidity, which in turn creates a false amount of Liquidity on Pangolin? It shows on the list that the coin has a huge amount of liquidity, when they really don't have it. 

Team: Its a known "bug" within analytics that happens with a lot of projects. We could mitigate through indexing and displaying. Technically it is correct info, but from a user experience it can be confusing.

Hamjakma: List on Binance Exchange

Team: We need to get listed on medium sized exchanges first, in order to get on the radar of leading dexes like Binance. They also need to add c-chain integration. There is also fees to negotiate, and legal paperwork to handle.
